According to foreign media, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a greenhouse gas deterioration prevention (ghg-psd) license to Formosa Plastics, allowing it to build a 1.6 million ton/year ethane cracking unit, a 660000 ton/year propane dehydrogenation unit (PDH) and a 570000 ton/year low-density polyethylene (LDPE) unit in point comfo, Texas, with a humidity of 20% - 80% RT. Formosa Plastics said that once it received the licenses for these projects issued by the Texas Environmental Quality Committee (TCEQ), it would start construction. The company hopes that these experimental machines can obtain corresponding signal devices through load, strain and displacement sensors, and will be completed and put into operation in 2017
since 2011, EPA has received 83 ghg-psd application applications from Texas and has granted 50 licenses. The total investment of these projects exceeds 24billion US dollars
